I'd say that I've been a massive Aswad fan for years, and the Live and Direct album from Notting Hill Carnival in 1983 has a magical electricity to it. The original Jstar instrumental backing had no relation to their mighty 'African Children' until Spikey T was humming it while staying at my flat, and we re-jigged a chord to make it fit. An honour to cover a great band. Spikey T is one of the most unsung talents of the MC and singing scene (and an awesome DJ) - we met many years ago at Morcheeba's studio... too many stories!
